About Rylie Ammons
With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. In Wichita Falls, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local girl, Rylie Ammons.
Rylie is the daughter of Curtis and Stephanie Ammons. Born on October 11, 2005, Rylie was diagnosed with Acute Liver Failure. The doctors at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in Dallas, Texas, performed a life-saving liver transplant on April 27, 2012. An estimated $40,000 is being raised by Wichita Falls volunteers.
